It is only for an hour, but it saves a lot.Earth Hour 2010 happens on March 27, Saturday at 8:29PM. All major cities and towns in the country are to switch off lights for an hour. This is in response to the Earth Hour movement that provides climate change, global warming and environmental awareness.
It's a call to action, a global invite for everyone to start thinking for our planet's sake. Ah... let me rephrase that - it's for the sake of our children's future (unless you want them to walk to school with oxygen tanks behind them).
Earth Hour is not just awareness. Earth Hour actually saves around P3 million for the country. It's not affecting the future, but the present as well.
Let Your World Stop: 60 minutes
Get your eyes off led screens for a while. The world will not die if you don't tweet or update your Facebook status. Take the time to get out of your house and breathe. Look up to the moon, stars or clouds and ask yourself, when was the last time?
Take the time to sit down and use your mouth for talking, not your fingers. Chat with family or friends. Catch up and you'd be surprised to learn new things from the people closest to you.
Get to know silence. And peace.
